Absence

As I look at the night sky,
I wonder,
What is darkness?

Could it be,
The absence
of light?

For the missing of something,
is always something else.
Are we the absence of something?
Of Sadness? Happiness?
Something must be gone for
us to exist.

Just like the
Darkness

It ebbs and
flows, evading
rays of blinding
light,
seeking out protection
from the sun,
like a scoundrel

And us humans,
We treasure the light,
while the darkness does
all the work.

For what is light
except the absence
of darkness?
